Staying Connected #56

Still stitching …

From Darla … I am working on Wonky Houses machine appliqué. 19 out of 24 fused, and about 10 stitched.

Also, doing another Toni Whitney appliqué – the Racoons. All fused and stitching started.

From Eleanor … Here is my first block of “Grow-a-Quilt.” I ran out of fabric on the rail fence, so had to cut it up. Either my stash let me down , or I miscalculated!!!

From Diane … Friends Quilt … Here is the finished quilt that I made from our strip exchange.

Six of us passed around sample colors and five 8″ x 40″ batting strips. When you got a package you made one strip and passed it on. When you finally received all the strips back you could alter the strips anyway you wanted and create a quilt. Here’s what I ended up with and love it.

From Wendy S … Arlene I and I made these “Prayers from the Heart” for the Caring/Pastoral Ministry at our church. On the back of the heart there is a pocket where you place a prayer and pass it on.

We thought in this time of Covid-19 it was something tangible to let a person know there in our prayers and thoughts.

From Linda R … Timeless Tidbits Temecula quilt, one of two.

From Chris … I purchased the kit for this wall hanging, but I added more (from the bits left over) on a trip to New Zealand many years ago. I had the top completed and finished it for the UFO Challenge.

From Marilyn … So far my quilt (Grow-a-Quilt 2021) is growing into a traditional style Medallion Quilt. The next Grow-a-Quilt block will be presented at the May meeting.

Many thanks to Darla, Eleanor, Diane, Wendy S, Arlene I, Linda R, Chris, and Marilyn for contributing to this post.
