Staying Connected #28

Welcome to the first post of autumn.

Finishing UFOs, mining our stash, making face masks … there are lots of things on the go.

And behind the scenes, there are mug mats being created and popped in the mail to a fellow quilter.

Have you got some fall and winter projects in mind?

From Diane … Just sitting here checking out the view. 17 more masks to do.

Here is the latest completed project.

I had done the black and white rectangles when I was making another quilt so my daughter-in-law picked out orange sashings and purple backing. She now has a TV room quilt.

On the back the stitching shows the grandchildren’s names in large letters and geometric shapes in each block. Done as qayg (quilt as you go).

Front and back of the finally completed Barb Mortell workshop project from 2010.

A 12×16 wall quilt that copied a photo of my daughter’s fish pond. Did it as I did a big quilt.

This is one I had for only 6 years. Covid has provided a real stash and project cleaning opportunity.

From Marianne … This is a small lap-sized quilt, made from leftover blocks. This will go to community quilts.

And then I made masks for these stuffed animals. My daughter uses them in her kindergarten class.

Many thanks to Diane and Marianne for sharing their projects.

Out and about … a pop-up pumpkin patch on a local boulevard …
