Staying Connected #58

Another post full of inspiration …

From Darla … Just finished the flimsy for another Toni Whitney. The colours in this Wood Duck are really beautiful. Now to appliqué it.

From Linda R … Two quilts back from my long arm quilter, Wendy Margerm. A Christmas quilt made for my Granddaughter …

… and a small Temecula sampler quilt.

From Glennis … Spring “covid” quilt. 2020 CQA row by row quilt. Stash buster sort of!!!! Quilted by Wendy Margerm. I used a a wide back cotton on the back. (What a lovely setting for this photograph. Ed.)

… and My Grow-a-Quilt. The centre block is a Holding Hands star block.

From Barb M … The Peter Byrne (Cityscape Improv Inspiration) workshop was fun and taught us some other straight quilting techniques.

… and I finally finished this for a colleague’s new baby girl.

From Diane … I was trying to use up blue scraps and wanted to do something with circles and half square triangles but didn’t want to end up symmetrical. This quilt had a mind of its own and became a stained glass window.

From Janet … Here is the array of placemats I have made for Community Quilts – all from my scraps. I will deliver them to Linda along with the kits she provided me with, all done as well.

Her design with the inset contrasting piece was a great idea. I am sure all the placemats will find a good home and put a smile on someone’s face!

It was a ton of fun.

From Linda F … I’ve changed up my door, with a new look.

Okay, I’m rushing the summer season a bit with my new front door banner, but I couldn’t resist putting up my “Cool Chick” quilt. Original design, all from scraps.

If you drop off a Community Quilt project, you will get to see it up close.

From Chris … Last Friday I received a package from daughter In Williams Lake, 5 Fat quarters for some masks & a book. First picture is the 5 plus 3 I added.

My daughter in law said she would like a couple of new masks, so I decided to make some for myself. 2nd picture my 4 at top, the others for my daughter-in-law. My weeks work, guess what I was doing during the meeting. I really enjoyed the speaker (Cristina de Miranda), her work is delightful and inspirational.

From Moira … I have completed my panel quilt top but I’m not sure how or if I will quilt it.

I also sewed a journal cover which was a suggested project by the Program Committee of the Sunshine Coast Quilt Guild.

Many thanks to Darla, Linda R, Glennis, Barb M, Diane, Janet, Linda F, Chris and Moira for sharing all their wonderful projects.
