“Speed Date with Improv” Zoom Workshop

Last Wednesday, November 4, and Thursday, November 5, mornings we had fun creating improv blocks with Krista Hennebury. Using the Zoom platform Krista showed videos of her directions regarding each block and then provided support as we worked on each one. Zoom allowed us to include two people from Ontario: a quilter from Krista’s wait list, and, Lynda, a SQG member currently in Ontario.

Here is the view on Krista’s computer and a photo of her workstation as she gave our workshop.

Then from her house to our houses and this was my view —

The workshop went well as we had time to try each block and have questions answered as we went along. Following the practice with last block Krista offered suggestions on how to put the blocks together and hints for the quilting. She showed a slideshow of quilts in which she used the blocks. Thank you Krista.

On Instagram use — #speeddatewithimprov – to add your photo to others who have taken this workshop or just to have a look at more Speed Date quilts.

Here are Diane’s ready to be organized, Anne’s organized but not finalized, and Judy’s finalized and pinned ready to be quilted blocks. If other members send me pictures of their blocks, assembled or not, I will add them to this gallery of photos.

For our first Zoom workshop the feedback has been positive. Members felt they had a chance to talk to others, they accomplished a lot, and, they were happy they could not forget something at home.

What shall we do next?
