Staying Connected #10

There seems to be lots going on in our quilting spaces … stash busting, finishing projects, making masks (so many patterns!), working on special projects, and just finding pleasure working with our fabric.

And spring flowers continue to bring much joy.

From Linda R … I am working on my COVID 19 Village quilt. So much fun to make and use up scraps …

… also , my Temecula stay-at home-project. I made a table runner from my squares …

… I am enjoying my fragrant first rose.

From Eleanor …

I made this camping quilt for our youngest grandson, hoping he gets to go on his first camping trip this summer …

… I made two dozen masks and 15 scrub caps which went to the Lynn Valley Care Centre …

… plus, I finished my sixth quilt, using only my stash.

I must say my dream was to be able to sew all day – got what I wished for, now my dream is to escape from my sewing room!!!

From Sharon R … I’ve been working on my Rabbit Floral Collage and she is a pretty big girl, so some of the background fabrics I thought I might be able to use weren’t big enough. Anyhow here she is, just about finished.

From Riva … Face masks that I have made and am donating to Parkgate Seniors Centre.

I used a pattern developed by Diana Coatsworth who has designed masks, scrub hats and gowns to respond to the shortage of PPE for Healthcare, front line and Essential Workers during the COVID-19 crisis. The “Sewing Army” brings together sewers, makers and helpers. The patterns can be found on their website: thesewingarmy.com.

From Donna … I was given various yellow and black 6 1/2 “ squares. I wanted to do something different. Thanks to Diane for sharing pictures of her half square triangle blue quilt on Connect #5. Her quilt really inspired me.

I found a layout I liked. Took me several times to get the layout correct. It is quite confusing working from an iPad.

Very pleased with the outcome. Used every last piece of fabric. Put an old never used yellow cotton sheet on the back. I start quilting it today.

From Esther … COVID-19 projects …

From Genevieve … I have done this during COVID.

From Maureen …

… a tree peony

From Linda D …

Many thanks to Linda R, Eleanor, Sharon, Riva, Maureen, Linda D, Donna, Esther, and Genevieve for contributing to this post.
