Staying Connected #8

About quilting … and other things, too.

From Sharon R … Well, here I go again with another floral collage. I’ve just about used up all my cut flowers now.

I had planned on using some turquoise fabric for the back, but realized it was planned for bindings in an unfinished baby quilt, so I ended up going with the Laura Heine fabric I’d bought from Christine (Fibre Expressions) at our workshop.

I’m missing being able to go to the quilt stores to audition fabrics and I only have a limited stash.

From Kathryn … These four new books came in the mail the other day …

… It’s really hard to resist buying new books especially when they are being offered at low prices and you have so much time on your hands. I really should be working on my UFOs but it is more fun searching for great books.

I hope some of you are able to spend lots of time sewing right now. I find myself unfocused so not much production going on. I have finished around ten puzzles now and read lots of books but I haven’t managed to clean up my sewing room – can’t use the excuse that I have no time! I have made masks and I donated material to a group that is making masks, and guess what, I just got a request for more masks! My taxes are due soon, I promised my husband I would bake something, and the garden is calling me.

But first, I think I will process these lovely new books so they can go into self-isolation…Take care and stay safe or as my grandma always said, “If you can’t be good – be careful.”

From Elaine D … a hopeful video … The Great Realisation by Tom Foolery

Many thanks to Sharon, Elaine, and Kathryn for contributing to this post.
