Our Community Quilt Day on January 29 was attended by over twenty members. On a dark and rainy day, the church hall was a warm and friendly place to hang out and sew together.
Placemat kits were available and community quilts were sandwiched, but “Project Pillowcase” proved to be the theme of the day.
Linda F had pillowcase kits on hand for members to work on.
Elaine A set up a design wall showing the pattern pieces needed and handed out instructions.
Les guided us through the stages of making a pillowcase using the “burrito” technique and gave us tips about accent strips and French seams.
Chris arrived with her donation of lovely pillowcases and bags that had kept her busy at her machine on recent snow days.
Refreshment volunteers looked after tea and coffee, and members brought tasty snacks to share.
Thanks to Connie, Linda F, Elaine A, Les, and all who helped with the preparation and organization for this enjoyable and productive day.
