A Delicious Meeting before the Summer Break

Our June potluck luncheon was a lovely way to get together before summer.

The tables were decorated with stunning floral centrepieces – vases of orange roses, lady’s mantle and ferns set on teal coloured chargers with shimmering glass beads, courtesy of Linda F. They generated a lot of discussion about colour and creativity, which are favourite topics of quilters, many of whom seem to be gardeners, also!

Prizes were won by a number of members – door prizes, the May Block of the Month draw, and the Community Quilts draw for those who made wheelchair quilts.

The meal was scrumptious, and included many tasty and interesting salads, perhaps due to the heat wave on the Lower Mainland over the last several days and the reluctance of many to turn on their ovens!

The games were fun, and Show and Tell was delightful as always.

Many thanks to Barb M and our other programmers and all the helpers for putting together this event.

Happy Summer and Happy Quilting!
