January 2019 Update

In the last couple of months we said good-bye to 2018 and launched into 2019 with a new round of guild activities – more fun with fabric and quilting friends!

Our December meeting was a Christmas Luncheon, featuring delicious food brought by members and a round of enjoyable activities organized by the Programme Committee to get us into the spirit of the season.

This magnificent trifle was a work of art.

Members received mug mats from their Secret Santas.

The January meeting was busy and entertaining, even without a speaker, who may be rescheduled for a presentation later in the year.  Five new members joined the Guild.  Welcome to Mary, Denise, Sharon, Arlene, and Wendy.

It was our Annual General Meeting, and a full slate of volunteers for Board and committee positions signed on to help make our quilting year as successful as possible.  Our budget was passed, and our programs are set to go.  Have Quilts Will Travel continues, two new workshops are coming up, a new Community Quilts committee has been struck, and Quilts of Valour is encouraging members to make log cabin blocks for a CQA initiative at Quilt Canada 2019.

The Block of the Month program has wrapped up for now.  Photos and instructions for the 2017-2018 blocks can be found on the Block of the Month Page under Activities.
